In line with an official announcement today, Payments platform Wirex reveals the launch of its multi-currency Mastercard
debit card within the U.K.
as well as the EEA [European Economic Area].
The debit card supports 18 cryptocurrencies and traditional currencies, Wirex added.
The card embodies real-time point-of-sale conversion, interbank and OTC [Over-the-Counter] exchange rates, free international ATM withdrawals, zero monthly fees, and free fiat-to-fiat exchanges, the firm added within the official
update.
"After reaching 75k+ people on the waitlist for the new card, these new features will assist
to form cryptocurrencies more accessible to everyone," Wirex explained.
The firm says
it's 3.5 Mln users within 130 countries.
Wirex became Mastercard's primary cryptocurrency-native principal member earlier in July; it achieved a similar principal member status with Visa later in December.
"Our work with Wirex is another example of how we are empowering users with more choice and peace of mind within the way they shop and pay," Edoardo Volta, head of the fintech at the Mastercard United Kingdom and Ireland, explained within the official statement.
