The United States SEC [Securities and Exchange Commission] has extended its review of SkyBridge Capital’s application for a Bitcoin [
BTC] ETF [Exchange-traded Fund], a filing by the U.S.
regulatory authority reveals.
Anthony Scarammuci's SkyBridge Capital
submitted an app earlier on 6
th May to list and trade shares of
the primary Trust SkyBridge Bitcoin ETF Trust.
The SEC has extended its initial 45-day review period to 25
th Aug.
The agency has received public
discussion of the application.
The United States regulators
are extremely reticent to approve such investment vehicles, that might provide retail investors with access to the bitcoin market without having
to have bitcoin itself. ETFs are a staple
of several retirement portfolios.
