In line with a recent report published by ‘The Block’, renowned encrypted messaging service provider ‘Telegram’ can supposedly launch its TON [Telegram Open Network] within the Q3 of 2019.
An internal memo sent to investors reportedly aforementioned that the network would launch later this year. Telegram supposedly added that a recent successful test process “reaffirms our belief that the TON virtual machine as well as TON … Byzantine consensus algorithm are capable of meeting the goals expressed within the original technical ‘white-paper.“
Earlier in April, Telegram opened access to a personal testing version of the TON ‘blockchain‘ to a choose several developers. Anonymous ‘test‘ developers stated that the blockchain demonstrated “extremely quick transaction speed.”
The TON network would purportedly host decentralized apps, almost alike the Ethereum [ETH] network.
Also in Feb, an apparent ‘purchase contract‘ for Telegram’ Gram tokens – the TON network’s native digital currency — expressed that such contracts are going to be rendered null and void if the network doesn’t launch by 31st Oct., 2019.
Telegram was ‘launched‘ by the Nikolai Durov and Pavel Durov earlier in 2013. The firm ‘raised‘ nearly $1.7 Bln in two private ICO [Initial Coin Offering] rounds last year. The platform boasts above 200 Mln users.
Just last month, TON’s development team partnered with German financial services supplier ‘Wirecard’. TON Labs would work with Wirecard to develop digital financial products.
