Several organizations have teamed up to form a “map” of what the blockchain landscape seems like in Singapore, and it’s tons bigger in 2020 than it would’ve been earlier in 2019.
Announced earlier at the Unitize blockchain conference, the map is supported by a Singaporean governmental agency called the IMDA [Infocomm Media Development Authority], and is usually a set of company logos organized by specific businesses. The categories here range from corporate services to smart cities to protocol and infrastructure and beyond.
A new addition for this year is decentralized finance [DeFi], a sector that seems to be gaining global momentum as Temasek recently became the primary Asian entity to coordinate with the Libra Association. Global recruiting for jobs requiring blockchain skills is additionally up.
Moreover, in total there are around 234 entities represented across 26 categories on this year’s roadmap. That’s 91 more firms represented now versus last year, indicating growth above 50%.
