Renowned private messaging application, Signal, now accepts cryptocurrency donations.
In line with an official web blog
post, Signal Technology Foundation is now accepting cryptocurrency donations through
The Giving Block.
The non-profit organization behind
the favored messaging app was founded by Moxie Marlinspike & Brian Acton earlier in 2018 and runs on donations.
The Giving Block integration permits Signal
to accept Bitcoin [
BTC, +1.80%], Ethereum [
ETH, -0.23%] along 10 other digital assets.
Also earlier in January, Signal staff members expressed concerns about cryptocurrency payments being integrated into the platform,
consistent with a report by
Platformer.
MobileCoin, a cryptocurrency project advised by Marlinspike, went clive earlier in December and
recently was successfully able to raise a Series A funding round.
