Opera Now Offers Cryptocurrency Wallet TopUp Service For U.K.

One among the most liked web-browser, Opera, continues to expand its cryptocurrency integration by extending cryptocurrency wallet top ups to the U.K. now.

After introducing the service to the U.S. along with a few European countries earlier this year, Opera now offers cryptocurrency purchases within the U.K. via its collaboration with cryptocurrency processor Ramp.

Low-Fee Cryptocurrency Top-Ups Via Bank Accounts

As announced earlier on 24th July, the solution implements European Open Banking APIs while implementing low-fee cryptocurrency top-ups via bank accounts or digital banking app Revolut.

The head of crypto at Opera, Charles Hamel, added that at the launch U.K. customers would be able to buy Ethereum [ETH], with more cryptos coming within the mere future.

Since Opera launched its first crypto wallet back earlier in 2018, the service has unrolled support for variety of new crypto assets along with Bitcoin [BTC] and Ethereum [ETH], as well as various ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens.

“This means we largely cover most of the highest 100 digital assets,” Hamel added. Reportedly the primary traditional browser to ‘go crypto’, Opera’s crypto wallet has over 170k monthly active users so far he added.

Opera Vs Blockchain

After introducing its first cryptocurrency wallet for Android users 2 years earlier, Opera browser has been actively pushing crypto – related developments. Earlier in March this year, Opera became the primary browser to offer access to decentralized sites via its collaboration with Unstoppable Domains, one among the leading blockchain domain operator backed by famous industry investor Tim Draper.

Also earlier this year, Opera unrolled Bitcoin [BTC] & Ethereum [ETH] wallets within the United States & direct cryptocurrency purchases with debit cards and Apple Pay. Supporting Ethereum decentralized apps, or DApps, the Nasdaq-listed company features a long-running collaboration with tech company Ledger Capital to research potential blockchain apps for Opera based products.
