Following the recent reports that HitBTC exchange users were getting the shaft when attempting to withdraw their MXM tokens from Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency exchange HitBTC, that now don’t permits the trading of the token, ‘MaxiMine’ has proclaimed that they’ll ‘rectify‘ for the lost coins.
At-Last Someone Takes The Responsibility Of Lost MXM Tokens
MaxiMine stated that they would be “taking the responsibility” for the losses occurred, and thereafter receiving the tokens they would transfer them back to HitBTC; and would fund the token swaps themselves.
“After active conversation with HitBTC exchange, it was agreed by the MXM team that they would take responsibility for affected traders of HitBTC throughout this token swap. HitBTC would transfer the new MXM tokens back to the MXM team and therefore the swap would be performed manually.”
MaxiMine desires users to contact them via mail, however it’s still unclear why this scheme has been opted by the company. As reported earlier, the transfers out of the HitBTC exchange were extremely visible & apparent on the Ethereum [ETH] based blockchain, being conducted weeks, once the token had been modified to a new contract.
Moreover, the price of MaxiMine [MXM] has been in rough straits over the past week, presently trading at a price around ‘$0.053431 USD‘ which is 0.17% lower than yesterday. At this period of time, traders can either wait for an another price hike or probably cash-out for a far much less price than they might have attained, when the contract swap primarily took place.
Roughly around a few hundred of users were overall affected. MXM continues to majorly trade on CoinBene exchange, with the overwhelming majority of its volume. However, investors interest within the MXM might have been declined due to the ongoing issues.
Users Consent Required
MaxiMine, on its behalf, is not to blame for the actions of HitBTC exchange. HitBTC looks to have actively chosen to not adopt the new contract within its withdrawal practicality. However, MaxiMine adds that it’ll process the swaps ASAP:
“Once the project team has received the tokens from HitBTC exchange and verified all token holders, new tokens are going to be distributed accordingly to the affected users.”
While they seem to be making a right choice, by refunding the tokens meant for the users, on the another hand, HitBTC has once again alienated the entire community and a part of its user base.
However at the reporting time, HitBTC has not yet responded to any of these claims, as it does always.
