According to a recent official press release on Sep. 5th, the primary distributor of luxury cars in United states has started accepting Bitcoin ‘BTC’ and Bitcoin Cash ‘BCH’ as a mode of payment.
The luxury automobile distributor, owned by ‘Tilman Fertitta’ has integrated crypto payment service platform ‘BitPay’ to let customers purchase their cars in digital currencies. The press release further mentioned to accept payments in cryptocurrencies from customers across the globe.
Fertitta commented that the company has planned to employ the new payment choices so as to provide their customers “the absolute best shopping expertise” along with “anyone across the world” to purchase the automobiles “efficiently and easily.”
However, only late last year, Fertitta had told reporters that almost all individuals would never be purchasing bitcoins, since “it’s not insured by the FDIC corporation [Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation].”
Moreover, earlier this year, major automobile manufacturing company ‘Ford’ filed a patent for a system for vehicle-to-vehicle communication terminologies that involved the exchange of crypto tokens to facilitate traffic flow.
Even in March this year, Germany-based automotive producing company ‘Daimler AG’ well known for its Mercedes-Benz and Smart brands, introduced its own crypto currency ‘MobiCoin’ so as to reward drivers for eco-friendly driving practices, like low speed driving.
