Japan’s Liquid Global cryptocurrency exchange revealed that it’s been hacked, and has suspended deposits and withdrawals.
In line with an official tweet earlier today on Thursday, the exchange revealed that its warm wallets were compromised and it had been transferring its digital assets offline.
While the entire amount stolen has yet to be determined, the worth taken in bitcoin, ether, ripple, Tron, along with others might be over $90 Mln, Eddie Wang, senior researcher at OKLink, outlined.
“We are currently investigating and can provide regular updates,” the exchange added within the official tweet. “In the meantime, deposits and withdrawals are going to be suspended.”
However, within a later tweet, Liquid Global outlined that it’s working with other exchanges to freeze the funds.
So far, it’s revealed nine wallet addresses where the hacker is depositing heisted funds. One of the addresses Liquid Global revealed was still receiving bitcoin at 7:20 UTC by last.
