A 24 year individual named KRahman, has been arrested after allegedly buying $27k worth of drugs [Ecstasy Pills] in exchange for Bitcoin in India.
In line with native reporting media ‘The Times Of India’, the drugs were sent from Frankfurt earlier in the month of July, bearing a false address, consistent with the report. Rahman was due to receive the illicit goods via the Foreign Post Office in Chamarajpet.
The parcel itself consisted 750 grey and brown coloured pills, that were after confirmed as ecstasy, otherwise referred to as MDMA.
The parcel was inspected on 31st July. Consistent with the reporting media, after the Narcotics Control Bureau confirmed the drugs, the Bureau’s Bangalore zonal director, Amit Ghawate, led an investigation to trace the receiver down. Thereafter 19 days of searching, Rahman was found.
According to the investigating officer:
“Rahman had, on previous occasions, ordered the drugs and received them at the city’s FPO before selling them at parties & among youngsters, mostly college students.”
Held under the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, Rahman is now in judicial custody.
