Google Now Permits Running Cryptocurrency Ads Again - Bull News.

Google now accepts running cryptocurrency-related ads again after its updated financial products and services policy went into full effect earlier on 3
rd August.
The leading search engine banned
crypto and ICO [Initial Coin Offering] related advertisements earlier in June 2018,
and therefore the updated policy permits regulated cryptocurrency entities
to plug their services
once more. ICOs
are overlooked within the cold, however.
Google’s cryptocurrency-related ad policy revision was primarily outlined in June and
stipulates that “advertisers offering cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets” targeting United States users are now permitted to advertise their services and products if they meet specific requirements.
The move will offer additional sales for Google’s parent company Alphabet, although crypto ads will likely be just a
drop by the ocean of the company’s $147 Bln in advertising revenue.
Google’s strict requirements are designed to
comb out shady advertising and blatant crypto scams. Advertisers must be registered with the FinCEN [Financial Crimes Enforcement Network] as a “money services business and with
a min of one state as a money transmitter, or a federal or state-chartered bank entity.”
The firm
won't allow ads for ICOs, DeFi trading protocols, or the promotion
of buying, selling, or trading cryptocurrencies. Celebrity cryptocurrency endorsements are also banned,
which can assist
partially with issues surrounding fake celebrity endorsements.
Google’s updated policy also bars cryptocurrency ads from linking to websites that host “cryptocurrency trading signals, crypto investment advice, aggregators or affiliate sites containing related content or broker reviews.”
Last month TikTok revealed that crypto-based promotional content had been banned as
a part of a move
to prevent all financial services and products from being advertised on the platform.
Redditors
within the r/Bitcoin subreddit saw the news that Bitcoin can
once more be promoted via Google as a “bullish” sign for the cryptocurrency, although user “Brief-Music-5825”
added that Google should “ban fake crypto news
also. The increasing number of faux news creating FUD is unbelievable.”
