In line with a recent official ‘podcast‘ tweeted image of the legal notice, the leading scientist of ‘NChain’ and BSV [Bitcoin SV] proponent named ‘Craig Wright’ has filed a libel claim within the U.K. against cryptocurrency podcaster namely ‘Peter McCormack’.
The reason behind this claim is that McCormack ‘alleged‘ Wright of fraudulent and incorrect claiming to be the creator of Bitcoin [BTC] ‘Satoshi Nakamoto’. In line with BSV-focused cryptocurrency news outlet ‘CoinGeek’, the claim ‘filed‘ aims to “prevent McCormack from making additional dishonourable claims that Wright isn’t the individual beneath the ‘Satoshi Nakamoto’ pseudonym.”
Moreover, Wright conjointly seeks £100,000 [around $130,000 USD] in damages, losses, and legal costs as well as court fees. Wright’s attorneys reportedly individually served a notification to the defendants earlier on Thursday and plan to file the claim next week.
The applicant added that he believes the attacks against him are literally meant to harm Bitcoin Satoshi’s Vision instead.
Explaining further, the report added:
“Wright maintains that BSV [Bitcoin SV] is the actual target due to its capability for large on-chain scaling, that represents an existential threat to the long-run of other cryptocurrencies, the flawed design of which prevents them from scaling to fulfil the requirements of a truly international monetary platform.”
As ‘reported‘ earlier, major cryptocurrency exchange ‘Binance’ delisted Bitcoin SV [BSV] over a similar instance within which Wright took action against the unnamed Twitter user who initiated the ‘Lightning Torch’.
Another renowned cryptocurrency exchange namely ‘Kraken’ has conjointly ‘delisted‘ Bitcoin SV [BSV], as did centralized cryptocurrency swap service Shapeshift. Within the meantime, OKEx ‘proclaimed‘ that it’ll not delist the coin.
