Coinbase’s pro trading platform has added DOT, the native currency of the Polkadot blockchain, the exchange revealed within an official web-blog post on Monday.
As of Monday, the token is out there to transfer into Coinbase Pro accounts. Trading will begin on or after 9 a.m. PT Wednesday.
The exchange typically adds crypto assets to its retail platform a couple of weeks after first listing them on the professional version, although that turned out to not be the case when it added Dogecoin [DOGE]. Coinbase Pro presently supports around 50 cryptocurrencies.
Trading pairs to be supported embody DOT-USD, DOT-BTC, DOT-EUR, DOT-GBP, and DOT-USDT.
DOT’s price has risen 19% over the past 24 hours, consistent with CoinMarketCap data. DOT at the reporting time is presently trading at a price of around $24.64 USD. Polkadot is a project related to the Web3 Foundation.
