The upcoming film festival under the Gyeonggi Film School will be held from 25th Sept to 4th Oct. Earlier, the festival revealed its new collaboration with MovieBloc, a Blockchain-based media distribution platform.
In line with Fn News, the festival’s audience will be able to rate each film in real-time in exchange for several tokens. The attendees will be able to contribute in other ways also, such as by offering foreign-language subtitles for several films, reciprocally for extra token-based rewards.
The online festival, which was developed in response to the coronavirus outbreak, may also be the primary of its kind & might set a precedent for future festivals within the post-COVID-19 era. Kang Yeon-Kyung, CEO of MovieBloc’s, added that he hopes this new model “can coexist with domestic & global film festivals as well as the movie industry .”
That event utilized a mechanism that rewarded the project’s contributors whenever an asset was sold; the Gyeonggi Film School will implement an identical idea in their upcoming event.
