Bitfinex exchange’s Bitcoin price is around ‘$5,986.60 USD‘ at the reporting press time – nearly around $300 USD compared to the present market rate of around ‘$5,692 USD‘. An asterisk has been placed next to its price on the CMC web-site to point-out its exclusion.
Explaining why some associated cryptocurrency prices and trading volumes are excluded, CMC’s web-site ‘adds‘:
“Some prices are manually excluded from the avg., denoted by an asterisk (*) symbol on the markets tab if the price doesn’t appear indicative of a free market price.”
Bitfinex is also fighting battles on many other fronts at the moment. Earlier in April, New York’s Attorney General ‘alleged‘ that the exchange lost $850 Mln and then used funds from Tether [USDT] for the recovery purposes.
However, both the firms have ‘denied‘ the accusations – employing a joint statement to claim the court filings were “riddled with false assertions.”
Earlier on 3rd May, New York’s attorney general ‘requested‘ the revealing of documents associated with an alleged deal between Bitfinex and Tether [USDT], with Letitia James claiming that the companies are misleading their users and investors.
A day later, an another official document ‘shared‘ by a Bitfinex stockholder perceived to confirm that the exchange is planing of an IEO [Initial Exchange Offering] of around $1 Bln.
