Madonna to celebrate her 60th birthday on August 16th, organised an online fund raising for her foundation in partnership with Ripple. She teamed up with Ripple and Facebook for ‘Raising Malawai Foundation’ fundraising poor children of Africa in Malawi. This activity is scheduled for a month starting from July 30th to August 31st of this year with a target of $60,000 USD. Around $26,000 USD are already raised by this campaign in just two days. Narrating of this fundraising campaign she further narrated:
“I have an unwavering commitment to providing vulnerable children with a loving home. For my birthday, I can think of no better gift than connecting my global family with this beautiful country and the children who need our help most. Every dollar raised will go directly to meals, schools, uniforms and healthcare.I want to come together with my friends, fans and supporters to change the lives of Malawian children and let them know they are nurtured, protected and loved. Through their generous commitment to this organisation, Ripple will match each dollar donated to this campaign.”
The Senior Vice President at Ripple Labs narrated this event adding:

Madonna founded the Raising Malawi organization back in year 2006 with the aim to fight the poverty and support orphan children’s. Users willing to donate through facebook can pay directly visiting Madonna’s fundraiser for further support.

She was given her first bitcoin in physical form for publicity by Texas Hold’em poker tournament hosted by gazillionaire philanthropists Irving and Shelli Azoff for the cancer-related charity named ‘City of Hope.’This is for the first time in a while bitcoin has been so prominently featured to a mainstream audience like the partnership of Madonna with ripple for the fundraising campaign in Africa.
