A Canadian store has been seriously damaged within the attempted robbery of a Bitcoin ATM and is not any longer able to serve users.
In line with a recent official report by Vernon Morning Star, the shop front of L&D Meats & Deli in Kelowna, British Columbia, was destroyed when the two suspects backed their white GMC Sierra pickup into it as they fled the scene.
Police revealed that the pair, who are presently on the run, had been attempting to burgle a Bitcoin ATM recently on Wednesday morning from the business nearby to the deli.
An employee of the shop named, Mike’s Produce, revealed that the suspects had been unable to remove the ATM, that was situated on the inside back wall.
Despite thousands of dollars in damages, nothing has been stolen, added Constable Solana Pare, a spokesperson for the Kelowna Royal Canadian Mounted Police, within the report.
Police also added that the suspects had left behind a tailgate from their pickup within the bungled raid.
