The United States Federal Reserve’s payments network for transferring wires & settling those transactions in real-time is down, consistent with frbservices.org.
“A Federal Reserve system operational error occurred in disruption of service in several business lines,” revealed Richmond Fed spokesman Jim Strader. “We are restoring services and are communicating with all Federal Reserve Financial Services users about the status of operations.”
Within an official report on Wednesday, the central bank added that its investigating service disruption to Fedwire, FedACH, as well as national settlement.
Additionally, cryptocurrency exchanges like Gemini, Kraken & possibly Coinbase are seeing delays in Fedwire & automated clearing house [ACH] transactions.
