Despite falling more than 90% of its all-time high, Dogecoin continues to be popular among investors. The meme coin, whose community continues to grow, is still one of the most valuable cryptocurrencies in terms of market capitalization. The origins of the digital asset, on the other hand, have always plagued it. Now, the meme currency's co-creator has added to the confusion by claiming that the coin was developed by "a foolish person."
Dogecoin is stupid
Billy Markus is one half of the team behind Dogecoin, which has since evolved to become the most popular meme coin and one of the most popular in the overall market. After a few years, both producers had abandoned the digital asset and appeared to have forgotten about it. That is, until billionaire Elon Musk began to promote the cryptocurrency, at which point it soared to $0.7 per coin. Markus returned to the market at that time.
Markus has been a prominent part of the Dogecoin community in the months after his return to space, frequently offering ideas and proposals to increase the coin's usability.
Elon Musk Applauds the Potential of DOGE
The 'Dogefather' is a fictional character. Elon Musk also joined the Twitter conversation to express his continued support for the cryptocurrency. This is unsurprising, given that the billionaire has been spotted pushing the joke coin on Twitter.
He responded to Markus's appraisal of Dogecoin as a foolish coin that recognises it's stupid with the same utility argument he'd previously employed. Musk responded to the coin's creator's tweet by remarking, "It has currency potential."
